General Information

Northbridge Housing CIC provides safe, supportive accommodation and tailored services to help individuals rebuild stability and move towards independence. We work closely with residents to understand their needs and ensure they receive the right support at the right time.

What is Northbridge Housing CIC and what do you do?

Northbridge Housing CIC is a Community Interest Company that provides supported accommodation and wraparound services to refugees and newly arrived communities in Birmingham. We offer safe housing combined with comprehensive support including English language classes, employment assistance, life skills training, and help transitioning to independent living.

We began operations in 2018 and have since supported over 500 individuals toward independence. Our experienced leadership team brings decades of expertise in refugee resettlement and social housing, with many staff members having lived experience as former refugees themselves.

Our unique strength lies in our culturally sensitive approach and team composition. Most of our staff are former refugees who speak multiple languages and understand the challenges our residents face. We provide holistic wraparound support, treating each shared house like a mini community that promotes settlement and integration.

While we specialize in supporting refugees and newly arrived communities, we also assist other vulnerable homeless individuals who would benefit from our culturally sensitive approach and comprehensive support services. Our focus is on anyone who needs help achieving housing stability and independence.

Accommodation & Services

Our accommodation is designed to offer a safe, stable, and well-managed environment where residents can focus on improving their wellbeing, skills, and independence. All properties meet strict compliance standards and are supported by trained staff who provide guidance, practical help, and signposting to essential services.

What type of accommodation do you provide?

We provide shared supported housing in professionally managed properties across Birmingham. Residents have their own bedroom with shared kitchen, bathroom, and living areas. All properties are fully furnished, include utilities, and meet all safety and compliance standards. Each house operates with 24/7 support availability.

Our comprehensive support includes housing advice and budgeting assistance, job search and skills development, English language classes, health access support, daily living skills training, cultural orientation, and immigration signposting. Each resident works with a dedicated support worker to create a personalized plan toward independence.

Our accommodation is designed as a stepping stone to independence. Most residents stay between 14-18 months, depending on their individual circumstances and progress toward achieving independent living goals. We work flexibly with each resident to ensure they’re ready for the next step.
